Identifying what the part actually has to do
Mechanical spares are frequently ordered from a number stamped on a component that has been worn, painted over or replaced with something non-original at some point in its life. We identify from the application — load, speed, temperature, fit and environment — which is why the part we supply tends to last longer than the one it replaced.
Equivalents across manufacturers
Bearings, seals and drive components have well-established cross-references between manufacturers, but a cross-reference is a starting point rather than an answer. Internal clearance, cage material, seal compound and lubrication all vary between nominally equivalent parts, and in a hot or contaminated environment those differences decide service life.
When making it is the better option
For genuinely unobtainable mechanical parts, manufacturing a form-fit-function replacement is often faster and cheaper than continuing to search. We will tell you when the search has reached that point rather than billing you for more searching.

We only have a worn part and no number. Can you still identify it?
Usually. Dimensional measurement plus the application context — speed, load, mounting and environment — is normally enough to identify the part or specify a correct replacement.
Can you help decide what spares we should hold?
Yes. We rank items by consequence of failure against lead time, which typically shows that a small number of cheap, long-lead items deserve shelf space more than the expensive assemblies most stores are full of.
