Control Systems

Hydraulic Control Systems

Power units, manifolds, actuators and valving sized against the real duty cycle — not the one on the original nameplate.

Sizing against actual duty

Most hydraulic complaints trace back to a system sized for a duty that has since changed. Loads increase, cycle times are pushed, ambient temperature rises, and a circuit that was adequate becomes marginal. We measure what the system is now being asked to do, then size pump, reservoir, cooling and actuation against that — and show the calculation.

Power units and manifold design

We build power units to the application: pump and motor selection, reservoir sizing for thermal stability, filtration rated to the contamination class the components need, and manifolds that put the valving where it can be serviced. Cleanliness discipline during build is what determines whether a system reaches its design life.

Diagnosis and rebuild

For systems already installed and misbehaving, we diagnose on pressure and flow measurement rather than replacement-by-guesswork. Cylinders, valves and pumps are rebuilt where economical, and seal kits and components sourced through our supply chain function.

Scope of work

  • Circuit design with pump, valve and cylinder sizing calculations
  • Hydraulic power unit build and thermal sizing
  • Manifold and valve block design
  • Cylinder specification, repair and reseal
  • Filtration and contamination-control specification
  • Pressure and flow diagnostics on installed systems

Common questions

Our system overheats in summer. Is that a cooling problem?

Sometimes, but often it is wasted energy elsewhere — a relief valve passing continuously, an undersized reservoir, or a pump running at full displacement against a partly closed circuit. We measure before recommending a cooler, because adding cooling to an inefficient circuit treats the symptom.

Can you match components to what we already stock?

Yes. Where your stores already hold seals, valves and filters for a particular manufacturer, we will specify within that range unless there is a technical reason not to.

Hydraulic Control Systems is part of our control systems capability. Talk to us about combining it with the rest of our service lines.

Send a drawing, a sample or just the symptom. We will tell you the quickest route, what it costs and how long it takes.
