Sourcing & Supply Chain

Electronic Component Sourcing

Obsolete semiconductors, allocated parts and discontinued modules — located through vetted channels and verified before they reach your board.

The parts that stop a repair

A board repair or a production run is usually held up by one line on the BOM: a microcontroller on allocation, a discontinued driver IC, a display module the manufacturer stopped making three years ago. We work those specific lines, using authorised distribution where stock exists and a vetted independent network where it does not.

Equivalence, assessed properly

A part that shares a package and a rough function is not automatically a drop-in. We check the parameters that matter for your circuit — timing, thresholds, drive capability, temperature range — and state in writing what differs. If a firmware or layout change is needed to accommodate it, we say so upfront.

Verification before it ships

Counterfeit electronic components are a real and well-documented risk in independent supply. Incoming parts are inspected — markings, packaging, date codes, and electrical checks where warranted — before they go anywhere near a customer's assembly or a board repair.

Scope of work

  • Obsolete and end-of-life semiconductor sourcing
  • Allocated and long-lead part expediting
  • Written functional equivalence assessment
  • Counterfeit screening and incoming verification
  • Full-BOM sourcing for production builds
  • Last-time-buy planning for end-of-life parts

Common questions

Can you source an entire BOM for a production run?

Yes. Full-BOM sourcing with consolidated delivery is common for clients running builds through our manufacturing service, and it removes the risk of a build stalling on one missing line.

What is a last-time buy and should we make one?

It is a final purchase before a part goes end-of-life, sized to cover remaining production and spares. It is worth doing when redesign is expensive and the remaining product life is well understood — we can help size it against your build forecast.
