Can you work from a physical sample instead of drawings?

Yes. Reverse engineering from a sample is one of our most common starting points, particularly for obsolete parts. We measure the sample, identify materials and fits, and produce a drawing set that reproduces the function rather than just the shape.

Who owns the design once it is finished?

You do. The full design pack — models, drawings, BOM and firmware source — is released to you at handover. We do not retain rights that would tie you to us for future production.

Do you handle both the electronics and the mechanical side?

Yes, and we prefer to. Splitting mechanical and electronic design across suppliers is where most integration problems begin. See our control systems work for how the two come together on the plant floor.

How long does a typical development take?

A straightforward reverse-engineered part can be drawn in one to two weeks. A new product involving custom electronics and firmware typically runs eight to sixteen weeks to a tested prototype, depending on component lead times.

Firmware for real hardware

We write embedded software for the boards we design, and for boards we did not. Microcontroller firmware, interrupt-driven acquisition, motor and valve control loops, and the communication stacks that connect them — developed against the actual hardware on a bench, not simulated and hoped for.

Industrial protocols and integration

Equipment rarely lives alone. We implement Modbus RTU and TCP, CAN, RS-485 and Ethernet interfaces so a machine reports into the SCADA or PLC layer already on your site. This is usually specified alongside the control system it belongs to.

Operator interfaces and tooling

HMI screens, configuration utilities and diagnostic tools that let your maintenance team read fault history and adjust setpoints without calling us. Where a machine generates data worth watching, we surface it in a form your condition monitoring programme can use.

Do we receive the source code?

Yes. Commented source, the toolchain version and build instructions are part of every handover. You are never locked into us for a firmware change.

Can you take over firmware written by someone else?

Usually, provided source is available. We begin with a review that reports honestly on what is maintainable and what is not, so you can decide between patching and rewriting before committing budget.
